When I first discovered JLongtin Law from a coffee shop in Wisconsin, I thought it was too good to be true. Compassionate criminal defense? Lucky for me, I was given the chance to join the amazing team of lawyers and paralegals and see for myself. Well, a year later, the reviews are in: JLongtin Law is as special as it seemed.
This, among many reasons, is why it is so difficult to be leaving. JLongtin Law has challenged me to grow and learn in ways I did not expect. It helped me to confirm my passion for mitigation work, which is what I will be going off to pursue. I want to be the best Forensic Social Worker I can be, and while my experience at JLongtin Law has been invaluable, ultimately, I want and need to earn my master’s in social work. I will be applying to the University of Utah next fall to hopefully achieve that goal. In the meantime, I will be taking the firm’s values of compassion, health, strength of character, and respect for all to a new job in Salt Lake City as a court liaison case manager for individuals in substance use treatment.
Thank you to Jen, Mattson, and Laurie for guiding, encouraging, and welcoming me as part of the team. And thank you to all the clients that I worked with, who trusted me with their stories, and allowed me to advocate on their behalf.
